Keeping your data safe
Redundant storage
freistilbox manages all application data on at least two database servers. Our file storage clusters store asset files in at least three copies. That way, your application data stays available even during partial outages or maintenance work.
Backups
All application data, i.e. database content and asset files, is backed up automatically once every 24 hours. The backup infrastructure is completely independent of the file storage cluster for maximum failure tolerance.
Additionally, you can (and should) use your shell access box to create offsite backups using command line tools like mysqldump or add-ons like the Drupal module Backup & Migrate.
Data sovereignty and GDPR compliance
With freistilbox, you and your clients enjoy full compliance with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). freistilbox is an EU-based business, and we run our hosting infrastructure exclusively in data centres in Germany which again are owned and operated by a German business.
We do not store any web application data on infrastructure of non-European businesses or in locations outside the EU.
